We open on Wednesday 26th March 2025 & we close on Sunday 2nd November 2025.

31st December 2020

The last day of the year and it is stunning.

When we got to the cliff top we were greeted by a large flock of gulls.

A low sun and long shadows with lots of frozen puddles.

30th December 2020

Dull and chilly, and the frost is back.

29th December 2020

It's another dull day at the coast but at least it's not as frosty as it was yesterday.

27th December 2020

We entered Tier 4 yesterday, bringing with it the highest level of Covid-19 restrictions.

Hopefully the restrictions imposed now will benefit us all in the spring.

At least the weather is trying to cheer us all up......

25th December 2020

Merry Christmas from West Runton.

No white Christmas for us, we did have a bit of hail late on Christmas Eve which did leave a little flash of white..... maybe next year!

We couldn't do our traditional Christmas Day 'after-dinner-circuit' (along the cliff top, down Beeston steps and home along the beach) as there has been a slippage at the steps, leaving them blocked.  If any of you are venturing this way please be aware the cliffs all along the coast are very unstable, due to the ground being sodden from all the recent rain.

22nd December 2020

Good Morning from a very blue West Runton.

Two glorious days on the trot, what a great distraction from all the gloomy news.

21st December 2020

The least said about today the better!

19th December 2020

It's a much better day today.

Polka dot sea - dotted with gulls illuminated by the low sun.

18th December 2020

Today has been rather windy and dingy, on the plus side it is much milder albeit still damp.

17th December 2020

This morning it all looks really cheerful, with bright shining sun - on the down side it is rather damp and chilly.

16th December 2020

It's rather dull today and the damp is making it feel really cool.

Even the gulls can't be bothered today, they are all just sitting around.

15th December 2020

We look to have had a lot of rain overnight again but it's not a bad start to the day.

14th December 2020

Despite lots of rain overnight it's much improved this morning.

Things improved greatly throughout the day.  The sky was beautiful.

13th December 2020

We've had a couple of damp and dingy days with yesterday being particularly unpleasant, however the omens for today seem much better.

Sadly the weather deteriorated and we had some more of the wet stuff.  We did have a few drier interludes but it was really damp and cool throughout the day.

As we neared the end of the day the sky turned a really dark greyish blue, creating a lovely contrast against the rather sandy coloured sea.

10th December 2020

Cool and damp - again!

8th December 2020

"Baby it's cold outside!"

Less than an hour later the sun was out and it was glorious - still cold but glorious.

7th December 2020

It's been a chilly start with a bit of lots of types of weather - frost, mist, sun and cloud but thankfully no precipitation (yet!).

5th December 2020

After a rather dingy day we had a very colourful end to the day.

2nd December 2020

We had an early morning visitor - a timid Muntjac.

Up on the cliff top it was all a bit grey.

Phil the Pheasant (or one more likely one of his descendants) has taken up residence near the new building.

1st December 2020

It was a rather murky end to the month (the last couple of days have been rather misty) but today it is extremely bright and breezy on the cliff top this morning.

The new month has certainly arrived with a bang, to be fair the old month departed in much the same way - it was quite a noisy night with the wind banging and booming.

27th November 2020

There are still a few showers about this morning but it is at least very calm, with the clouds forming some lovely reflections on the silky sea.

As we headed towards the end of the day the calm conditions continued.

26th November 2020

It's beautifully bright this morning but rather damp under foot following a heavy dew.

By mid morning it was glorious.

25th November 2020

It's damp, cool and uninspiring today.

24th November 2020

It's cool and calm on the coast this morning.

We had a lovely display of pastel colours to end the day.

23rd November 2020

This morning it's once again bright and fresh, in fact it's the coolest start to a day we've had in a while with the temperature coming in at 3℃.

22nd November 2020

It's fresh and bright this morning.

20th November 2020

It's not a bad day but it is feeling very 'seasonal'!

The Pacific Orca (a ship cum platform) steaming past with the A2B Comfort (a container ship) inside, one going to and the other coming from Holland.

19th November 2020

Brrrr - it's rather cold, damp and blustery on the cliff top this morning.

We managed to snap these photos in between the showers.

The sea is rather brown and choppy.

Even the gulls have been grounded by the wind and rain, they have taken up a sheltered position in the cows field on the beach road.

18th November 2020

After a productive morning it was nice to take a break on the cliff top.

As we got closer to the end of the working day the clouds started to build but there was a lovely corridor of light running along the horizon.

16th November 2020

We've had a rather busy day out on site but as we came to the end of the day we spotted a female Snow Bunting on the cliff top.

It proved a bit of a challenge to capture her in the failing light.

15th November 2020

They say a picture paints a thousand words.....

By lunchtime that message had thankfully changed!

13th November 2020

This is a bit more like it!

Not only was the weather very encouraging - we also received our first new caravan for some time.

The afternoon sky was beautiful.

12th November 2020

After a fairly nondescript day yesterday and some blustery rain overnight it is rather chilly this morning.

10th November 2020

It may be calm again today but there's no sign of the sunshine.

It looks to be a good day for spot of fishing off the beach though.

9th November 2020

It's very wet underfoot this morning but it's not a bad day for spreading grass seed and meter reading!

8th November 2020

It's calm and sunny again today and the walkers are back!

7th November 2020

Another sunny, calm day.

Over the past couple of days we've seen quite a number of walkers but today it is strangely quiet....

Not quite 4.00pm and it's already getting dark.

6th November 2020

It's another stunning day on the coast.

It was a bit hard to see what was going on through the haze but Cromer Lifeboat seemed to spend a little while stationary beside the Putford Provider, which is currently moored off East Runton, this afternoon.

5th November 2020

Typical day one of the Lockdown and it is glorious!

As we neared the end of the day we were treated to some beautiful sky-scapes.

4th November 2020

We have had a lovely start to the day but it is tinged with sadness as we are having to say goodbye to our remaining owners early as another Lockdown looms.

We would like to wish everyone a safe journey home and thank you all for your cooperation throughout what has been a very different season to the one we all expected.

Stay safe and we look forward to your return in the Spring.

3rd November 2020

After a bit of the wet stuff it got out quite nicely.

We had a really fiery sky to end the day on.

2nd November 2020

It is really lovely on the coast today.

31st October 2020

Not a bad day to end the month with.

We finished the day with some really dramatic clouds.

29th October 2020

We've had a very colourful start to the day.

It didn't take long for the colour to drain though and by 9.00am it was spitting with rain.

28th October 2020

This morning it is lovely.

As we neared lunchtime it was even better and brighter.

Sadly we had a couple of brief showers just after lunch but they weren't enough to spoil the day.

27th October 2020

It's a little brisk on the cliff top this morning.

26th October 2020

We've had a really lovely day but just before 4.30pm we had a terrific downpour - after that it all got decidedly apocalyptic....

25th October 2020

After a really wet night, this morning is a revelation.  That extra hour is certainly paying dividends!

We're been lucky enough to keep the sun all day and it was just as lovely this afternoon.

24th October 2020

It's been a beautiful start to the day but it does feel decidedly autumnal.

22nd October 2020

After a solid day of rain yesterday it is looking far more promising today.

There are still a few showers around but thankfully most seem to be out at sea.

By the time we reached the afternoon the sun was fully out and it was glorious.

20th October 2020

It's lovely today - calm and serene with only the hint of a breeze.

A cormorant was playing with a piece of bladder wrack seaweed just off the beach.

19th October 2020

The sky is amazing this morning, we have dazzling sun in one part of the sky and the other has complete cloud cover.

The edge of the cloud is illuminated so it looks like a large floating cliff.

18th October 2020

This morning is a re-run of yesterday but with less rain.

Again, just like yesterday, the afternoon is a real improvement on this morning

17th October 2020

It's all rather subdued and drab this morning, we've even had a drop of rain.

Things greatly improved as the day went by but there was still the odd shower out to sea, thankfully we weren't troubled by any.

You can just about make out a rainbow on the horizon.

By the time sunset came clouds had started to build but they just added to the drama.

It is really noticeable now how far inland the setting sun has travelled, a real sign that Autumn is here.

16th October 2020

We've had an uninspiring day weather wise and it's been a bit drab all day.

At the end of the day and when all the gulls had begun to return from inland they congregated on the cliff edge riding the thermals like a great plume of smoke.

15th October 2020

It's mean and moody this morning!

By lunchtime things had improved but the breeze was rather keen.

By the end of the working day it was dazzling.

14th October 2020

Today it is a little dull and drab.

12th October 2020

We have had a stunning start to the day - the colours in the sky were amazing.

The conditions on the cliff top this morning are so much calmer than of late and it actually feels much warmer.

11th October 2020

We had to time our walk up the hill to the cliff top well to dodge the showers this morning.

The compensatory rainbow was a lovely treat.

Sadly our luck ran out before we reached the shop and we got rather wet.......

Throughout the day we have had a mixture of sunshine and showers resulting in some fabulous rainbows.

The rain hit shortly after this photo was taken and snuffed out the rainbow in a matter of seconds.

By the time we opened up after lunch the sun was out but the wind had picked up and there were white horses as far as the eye could see.

10th October 2020

We've had a really lovely start to the day.

This photograph was taken by one of our owners this morning on a dawn walk, it may be outside of our territory but it is too nice not to share.

The promising start to the day petered out and we had a succession of showers.

As the afternoon progressed the sun made an effort to come out and we had some lovely bright interludes but the rain was never far away.

By the time we left the office there were lots of big billowing clouds, as impressive as they were they snuffed out any hope of a sunset.

9th October 2020

It's really cheerful this morning, cool but bright.

Autumn is here - the geese have returned.  We noticed our first big skein this morning.

As we got further through the day big black clouds started to mass.....

We spotted a lovely little Stonechat on the fence, another sign that Autumn is here.

8th October 2020

It's a very dark and dingy start to the day.

7th October 2020

It's looking much more promising this morning.

Lunchtime and the sun is still shining!

6th October 2020

It's all really sedate this morning.

5th October 2020

It's a bit damp and cool this morning, following another very wet night.

You can see it's still raining out on the horizon.

This afternoon we spotted a strange phenomenon - a golden ball in a blue sky....

We're not quite sure what that could be but it has put a much more cheerful complexion on things!

4th October 2020

It's a little dull this morning after a rather soggy night.

During the afternoon we did see a flash of blue out on the horizon.

3rd October 2020

It's another gloomy styart to the day......

Early afternoon we saw a flock of nine Herons flying over, they appeared to have been flying along the coast and turned inland just above the recreation field.

We ended the day as we started it, in a rather gloomy fashion.

2nd October 2020

It's another calm but dull day.

1st October 2020

Another month - it may be a bit grey today but at least it's nice and calm again.

30th September 2020

It's not been a bad day today.

We had a bit of excitement overhead in the form of 4 young Buzzards squabbling above the caravan park.

29th September 2020

It's another very calm day.

On the down side it is also a very dull and damp day.

Can you see what's missing?

The large conifer at Gull Cottage, in Water Lane, was sadly a victim of the weekend's storms and was removed by BT's tree surgeons this morning.

28th September 2020

Thankfully it is so much calmer today.

We even got to see the sunshine this afternoon!

27th September 2020

Despite the wind speed dropping to a mere 40-60mph we've had another blowy night and it's still blustery this morning.

We now have our own QR code for use with the government's Test & Trace App.

You'll find a copy on our Noticeboard.

26th September 2020

We had another blustery night and this morning it's no better.

The wind speed increased during the night but is set to drop a little during the day but is set to remain with us into tomorrow.

Just to add insult to injury we've been subjected to plenty of lashing rain.

Oops there goes the fence post!

And then there was one....

Wind speeds remained high all day and by the time we reached high tide the sea looked like it was boiling!

At least Shaun was dressed for the weather, which was just as well as he had a really busy day out on site.

We did have one casualty - the little pine tree at the top of the drive.

We were sent this photo by one of our owners, Kevin, which was taken down at the beach.

Conditions look rather extreme!

Kevin - thank you for sharing.

25th September 2020

High winds were forecast to arrive during the night and they did!

We are currently being battered by 45mph winds, with gusts far in excess of that - in fact the gusts are strong enough to literally knock you off your feet.

Weybourne has been consistently recording the strongest winds in the country all morning.

24th September 2020

We've had some very heavy rain over night and as a result it is feeling really rather fresh this morning.

Thankfully it wasn't long before the sun came out and we had, in the main, a lovely day.  The rain did try to make an occasional appearance but the compensation came in the form of some wonderful rainbows.

23rd September 2020

We started the working day with mizzle but it wasn't long before it tipped it down - it was so dull and dingy all the street lights came back on!

We've been sent this lovely photograph of yesterday's sunrise taken down on the beach by one of our owners, Mike.

Mike - thank you for sharing.

22nd September 2020

Phew! it's quite warm today.

As we neared sunset things looked quite promising.....

Sadly a bank of cloud prevented us from seeing the sun go down but it couldn't prevent the beautiful golden glow.

21st September 2020

We saw a little bit of activity around sunset involving Cromer Lifeboat and volunteers this evening - there have been no reports of an incident so we have to assume it was an exercise. .

20th September 2020

Today there are several big patches of churned up milky water where the recent waves have stirred up the chalk and sand on the seabed.

19th September 2020

It's been a bright and breezy start to the day.

By lunchtime the tide was well on it's way out but there was no sign of the wind abating!

18th September 2020

We have been treated to another sunny, picturesque day.

17th September 2020

It's a lovely cheerful day on the coast, the wind is a little keen but it is never-the-less really beautiful.

By the time sunset came the sky was looking rather dramatic.

16th September 2020

We've had another heavy dew overnight and this morning it's all very subdued.

One of our owners, Sarah, has kindly sent in some photographs (at beach level) of the work being carried out yesterday on the groynes.

Sarah also took a photograph of the milky, chalky water from the cliff top as she walked back.

15th September 2020

We've had a really heavy dew overnight and it's still a bit misty this morning but you can already feel the warmth of the sun.

By mid morning things had really hotted up.

The team were back on the beach attending to the groynes.

What a difference a fresh red 'basket' makes!

The water looks really milky where the digger has stirred up the chalk.

14th September 2020

It is another brilliant day on the coast - the sea is as calm as can be and the water is beautifully clear.

At lunchtime the views from the cliff top were stunning.

Lots of activity on the beach as the groynes get their annual spruce-up!

As we reached the end of the day the mist started to rise but it didn't prevent us from having another fiery sunset.

13th September 2020

What a glorious day!

What a fitting end to a lovely day.

12th September 2020

We've had another busy Saturday change-over but the weather is certainly on our side - it is absolutely beautiful today.

11th September 2020

The lovely weather is continuing and is set to get even better.

As it has been since we opened in July - it's one out and one in on the touring field!

10th September 2020

Yet another lovely morning!

As with yesterday, the day just got better and better.

9th September 2020

It's another really lovely morning on the coast.

8th September 2020

This morning is almost a re-run of yesterday but it's feeling a trifle warmer this morning.

By late morning the sun was shining and it was sweltering.

What a lovely end to the working day.....

7th September 2020

It's beautifully calm today.

5th September 2020

We had a lovely start to the day but by the time we reached lunchtime the breeze had picked up and it was all feeling a little on the brisk side.

4th September 2020

After a lovely calm evening we have woken to a beautiful day.

After a lovely day we were treated to a spectacularly colourful sunset.

3rd September 2020

First thing this morning we spotted one of the support vessels for the wind farm scorching along the coast heading back to Wells-next-the-Sea from Great Yarmouth.

It was an impressive sight.

Another impressive sight, if not a welcome one, were the big black clouds that appeared during the afternoon - thankfully they didn't amount to much!eringham meduica

2nd September 2020

We've had another lovely start to the day, there's a little bit of cloud about but not enough to spoil anything.

By early afternoon the tide was out and it was glorious on the beach below the caravan park.

1st September 2020

What a lovely start to the new month.

31st August 2020

Thankfully the wind has finally abated and we've been left with just a stiff breeze on the cliff top.

By the time we reached the afternoon it was glorious and a lovely ending to both the month and the bank holiday weekend.

30th August 2020

Despite the promise of a drop in wind speed in the early hours, it has been another windy night and it's still a bit wild this morning.

Look at all the coats - we've not seen so many people this muffled up for ages.

During the day the wind did abate but by the time sunset came it was blowy again.

29th August 2020

Wow!  It's blowy on the cliff top today but at least it's stopped raining (for now!).

28th August 2020

It's a bit gloomy on the coast this morning.  It has been very wet overnight and we are forecast to have more of the same later with a good dollop of thunder too!

3.45pm and contrary to the forecast the sun is trying to break through....

24th August 2020

What a stunning end to the working day!

23rd August 2020

Good Morning from West Runton - it's another beautiful day!

22nd August 2020

Yet another busy change-over day.

We have had a much better day than we were forecast, it's still blustery but the sun has been shining and it's not cold.

In fact it was dazzling when we finally closed the office at 6.15pm.

Perfect kite flying weather.

21st August 2020

It looks like we've got another lovely day in store today.

It was still lovely at lunchtime, despite there being quite a breeze.  Oddly enough, as the wind was off the land it was having remarkably little effect on the sea - just a bit choppy as you neared the wind farms.

20th August 2020

Back into the blue!  It's looking spectacular from the cliff top today.

Looks can be deceptive though as, despite a calm looking sea, there is quite a blustery wind.

19th August 2020

Another promising day, warm but with a little too much cloud!

18th August 2020

Things are looking a bit more promising this morning.

There was a lone seal relaxing in the water just off the beach.

10.30am and things really are looking up!

.

17th August 2020

It is looking a bit brighter this morning - fingers crossed we manage to escape the rain today.

Oh dear - more rain!

16th August 2020

The long awaited thunderstorms have arrived.

Thankfully we were just on the edge of the downpour - parts of Sheringham have experienced flash floods with several roads closed to traffic.

15th August 2020

It's been another really busy change over day, with not much time for photos - we did manage to snap this odd vessel through the mist though.

It is the Hebolift 9 on route from Rotterdam to Lewick, it was being towed by the tug EMS which is just out of shot.

14th August 2020

At last we can see the sea again.  It is a little overcast but it's still warm.

13th August 2020

I see no ships - in fact we can't see anything.

12th August 2020

It's another calm morning but it is already feeling rather sultry and the dreaded mist is lurking out at sea again.

By early afternoon it was lovely and blue but the mist was still sitting out at sea.  It was really quite hot but thankfully there was a little bit of a breeze on the cliff top!

Sunset came and so did the mist.

11th August 2020

Good Morning from a very calm and serene West Runton.

10th August 2020

It's a lovely start to the day - thankfully the mist has finally lifted.

By the time we reached the afternoon lots of people were taking advantage of the lovely conditions down on the beach and there were lots of holiday-makers taking a refreshing dip.

Tonight we thought we'd take a photograph from the village end of the caravan park of the sunset.

The clouds were amazing.

9th August 2020

After a much cooler night than of late we have woken to a spot of sea fret.

It took virtually all day for the fret to abate and despite the sunset being beautiful it was a bit on the hazy side.

7th August 2020

It's rather sultry on the coast today.

6th August 2020

We had a beautiful, dazzling sunset to end a very busy day.

5th August 2020

Today, despite being a trifle breezy, is absolutely glorious.

2.00pm and boy is that hot!  25°c on the cliff top.

The sea is incredibly clear at the moment.

4th August 2020

It's another dazzling start to the day and it's already feeling decidedly warm.

3rd August 2020

It's another beautiful, bright and breezy day on the coast!

We were treated to another beautiful sunset - not as dramatic as last night's but never-the-less just as colourful and beautifully serene.

2nd August 2020

Another warm day punctuated with beautiful billowing clouds.

Clouds were a feature of the sunset too - lending themselves to some really dramatic skies.

1st August 2020

It was an incredibly busy day on the coast yesterday, even the beach car park was full and had to turn people away.

Although it is warm today it is far more comfortable than it was yesterday, as today we have a lovely refreshing breeze.

By the time we reached the afternoon there were a few more clouds in the sky but never-the-less it was still warm and beautifully blue.

There are loads of young Pied Wagtails about at the moment, this was one of four sat on the shower block roof.

By 5.30pm the sky was looking a bit ominous out at sea but the sun was still shining over Sheringham!

31st July 2020

9.00am and it's already roasting hot - even the wind is warm!

30th July 2020

It is beautiful on the coast today.

29th July 2020

There's still a bit of a breeze on the cliff top but it's another lovely, if a little refreshing, day.

By 10.00am the sun was fully out and the views from the cliff top were stunning.

28th July 2020

After a night of quite heavy rain and gusty winds it's a little on the blustery side this morning but at least the sun is shining.

The setting sun made for a dazzling end to the day.

27th July 2020

We've had rather a mixed bag of weather today - sunshine and heavy downpours!

26th July 2020

Yesterday we had another very busy 'change-over' saying goodbye to one set of guests and preparing everything ready for the arrival of the next group.

We are really getting into the swing of our new Saturday routine of swapping used inventory boxes for new sanitized ones, touch surface cleansing and fogging, aside from our conventional cleaning.

The weather conditions proved somewhat challenging as it was sunny but very humid during the morning but it all changed as we reached the afternoon as we were subjected to several torrential downpours!

This morning it is altogether much nicer.

24th July 2020

It's another beautiful morning on the coast.

The sea was beautifully blue and so clear this afternoon.

23rd July 2020

We've had another slightly dull but very humid day.

The tides are really low in the afternoons this week so there are plenty of rock pools to search!

22nd July 2020

We appear to have the makings of another lovely day.

Although it clouded up through the morning, with even the odd solitary, rogue rain drop, it stayed lovely and warm - as you can see by the number of people enjoying the beach this afternoon.

21st July 2020

Today is another lovely day - bright and breezy!

20th July 2020

It is a really lovely day today.

As the day rolled into the evening we were treated to another stunning sunset.

19th July 2020

We had some very persistent and very heavy rain overnight.  In fact it was still raining quite heavily first thing this morning.

The rain subsided through the morning and by the afternoon it was beautifully blue again.

18th July 2020

It's been another warm day, a little dull on occasion but lovely when the sun popped out.

The sea is beautifully clear at the moment and there were plenty of swimmers taking advantage of it!

17th July 2020

Phew it's warm today!

It might be busy on the beach but it looks like there is some good social distancing going on.

It remained warm all day and it was still lovely and warm as the sun set - it was a really tranquil scene......

15th July 2020

The sky has been rather mean and moody today.

14th July 2020

It is pleasant this morning albeit a little on the dull side.

The Kestrel seemed to be liking the conditions he was hovering on the cliff top off and on all morning.

By lunchtime the sun had broken through and the views from the cliff top were glorious.

As we neared the end of the day the signs were all there for another great sunset.

It certainly didn't disappoint - it was dazzling!

13th July 2020

Good Morning from a rather subdued West Runton - fingers crossed the sun will break through soon...

12th July 2020

8.00am and it is amazing!

It has been really quite warm through the day and by the time we reached 4.00pm the sky was full of wispy high level cloud.

After a lovely day came yet another stunning sunset.

11th July 2020

The weather really does seem to have turned a corner.  The sky is beautifully blue with hardly a cloud in it, there is a hint of coolness in the breeze on the cliff top but not enough to spoil anything.

After a such a lovely day it was only fitting that we finished it with a lovely sunset.

10th July 2020

This is a bit more like it!

9th July 2020

The run of dingy weather is continung.......

8th July 2020

Oh dear - it's another dreary day.

7th July 2020

It's all a bit dull and gloomy today and (dare we say it) damp.

6th July 2020

Bright, breezy and very blue!

We spotted one of our regular summer visitors - a Hummingbird Hawk-moth, which was buzzing and flitting around.

5th July 2020

After a couple of really hectic days we are settling back into the new, old routine.

It was lovely to welcome so many of you back again - our thoughts are with our owners and visitors from Leicester who are having to wait that little bit longer.

We ended the day with a lovely sunset.

2nd July 2020

The weather is once again very changeable.

We've had a busy day out on park with final preparations for opening on Monday.

After a couple of gloomy days it was nice to see a fiery sunset.

Guess what we'd like you to do?

1st July 2020

A new month and another closer to opening!

It's all a bit changeable with the weather today.

As we neared lunch the sky became rather dark and moody - rain was on its way....

30th June 2020

It's not been a bad day today.

As you've probably noticed by the lack of entries on this page of the website we've had a rather busy week.  We've uploaded a selection of photographs to give you a taste of what it's been like here, sadly there's no commentary.

28th June 2020

24th June 2020

23rd June 2020

22nd June 2020

The sky is beautifully blue today and, as per the forecast, the temperature is certainly rising.

It was great to see people on the beach, each in their own little 'bubbles', enjoying the sunshine.

21st June 2020

Happy Father's Day to all you Dads out there.  We've had a lovely day on the coast and we hope you have too, where ever you are.

We might not of had a great Summer Solstice sunset but tonight's certainly made up for it - it was very dramatic.

20th June 2020

The sky is beautifully blue this morning with only the occasional fluffy white cloud.

By the time we had reached late morning there were a few ominous clouds building....

Thankfully the clouds came to nothing and we had a glorious afternoon - it was really quite warm in the sunshine.

Things were set for a great summer solstice sunset but the pesky clouds rolled back in and put pay to that!

19th June 2020

It is absolutely glorious this morning.

Oh dear - we had a spot of rain at lunchtime.

The rain came and went and we had a fairly pleasant afternoon, with the odd shower.

By the time sunset came there was still a stubborn bank of cloud but it didn't spoil the sunset, in fact it enhanced it.

18th June 2020

It started raining in the early hours of this morning and it was still raining at lunchtime.

Thankfully by 1.30pm it had finally stopped.

The picture at 3.30pm was completely different - Rain?  What rain?

The sunset was spectacular.

17th June 2020

It was much better this morning but we spent all morning and early afternoon inside in meetings discussing the dreaded Covid 19.

By the time we emgerged the equally dreaded mist was back!

16th June 2020

West Runton where are you?

Lunchtime and it is a rapidly improving picture.

We had a lovely afternoon and managed to escape the forecast rain, although it did look rather black inland for a while..

By sunset there was a lot of wispy cloud but it didn't prevent us from getting a rather lovely pastel coloured sunset.

15th June 2020

It's another misty day, on the upside it's a really nice temperature and it's very tranquil.

14th June 2020

The day started misty and, try as it might, the sun failed to really break through.

13th June 2020

It's all change on the weather front and what a day!

So nice we ventured down to the beach.

New social distancing measures at the beach cafe, which is now take-away only, seem to be working well.

By early evening it was looking very promising for a good sunset.

The sunset was a perfect end to a beautiful day - hazy yet dazzling!

12th June 2020

Oh dear - it's rather misty here today.

11th June 2020

Flaming June?  Flaming weather more like!

It's another damp and gloomy day.

10th June 2020

Today we're back to the murk - drab, grey and damp.

9th June 2020

What a difference a day makes...

We took an afternoon stroll along the cliff top - it was beautiful.

Surf's up!

Lovely Linnet.

We spotted this Skylark in a bush - not something you see every day, as they tend to stick to the ground (unless they are flying, obviously!).

8th June 2020

Dull and very blowy!

You can even see the waves crashing on Blakeney Point.

Yin and yang!  Sunset time and it's the complete opposite to this morning.

Ruddy brilliant! (see what we did there?)

7th June 2020

Persistent rain this morning!

It's been grotty all day but as the afternoon has passed into evening the wind has really picked up - it's really horrid now.

No chance of a sunset tonight.

8.00pm

6th June 2020

Deja vu?

There were a few breaks in the cloud during the day but nothing spectacular - unlike the sunset...

But boy, was that windy on the cliff top!

5th June 2020

It's a real stinker today.

During the afternoon it really brightened up but in between the bright interludes were a serious of really ferocious showers, many of which contained hail.

As we neared sunset cloud filled the sky but somehow the sun managed to find a big enough gap to blaze through.

There were still rogue showers about though, as the rainbow over the ridge can bear testament to.

4th June 2020

It's another grey day.

3rd June 2020

Yesterday evening's cloud has heralded a change in the weather - it's altogether duller today.

By lunchtime the sun had started to show itself but the wind had also made an appearance and it was beginning to feel quite cool.

Our resident Kestrel was still finding it a breeze to hover!

2nd June 2020

It has been another brilliant day on the coast.

Unsurprisingly the sunset wasn't bad either!

1st June 2020

The new month has started in the same vein as the last one....

Yet again we have had another amazing sunset.

31st May 2020

What a way to start the day and to end the month!

If you look carefully you can just about make out a pair of Skylarks on the cliff edge.

It looks like they may be looking for nesting material.

We ended the day with another really dazzling sunset.

Social distancing at its best!

30th May 2020

It's a super start to the day, the drive looked lovely in the dappled early morning light.

It clouded up a bit during the morning but by early afternoon it was much better, a tad cool in the cliff top breeze, but still beautiful.

With such clear skies this afternoon it's no surprise we have been treated to another dazzling sunset.

29th May 2020

It's a hot one today!

We had another lovely sunset to finish the day on.

There were loads of Gulls riding the thermals.

28th May 2020

The blues skies and dry weather are continuing - everything is looking a bit parched now.

The scaffolding came down from the new building today, it's much easier to see what the building will look like now.

The plumbers and the electricians have been busy too.

The run of dazzling sunsets is continuing......

27th May 2020

Today is rather overcast but it's not a bad temperature.

We had a short stroll along the cliff top at lunchtime, it was much brighter than first thing and the sun was shining again.

26th May 2020

It's another lovely day on the coast and thankfully a bit fresher with it.

Having had yet another lovely day it stood to reason that we might get yet another lovely sunset.

It started off as a rather hazy affair but as the sun dipped it developed into something rather special.

The clouds really added to the spectacle.

25th May 2020

Sunshine on a Bank Holiday Monday?  These really are unusual times.

We've finally found a way to make sure we don't miss any caravans out on our periodic photographic walks around the caravan park!

Avocet Row.

Brent Row.

Curlew Row.

Dove Row.

Egret Row.

Fulmar Row.

Grebe Row.

Heron Row.

Ibis Row.

Jay Row.

Kite Row.

Lark Row.

Martin Row.

After such a lovely day we were really hoping for something special at sunset - again we weren't disappointed.

24th May 2020

After a couple of really blustery days the wind finally appears to be abating.

After a cloudy morning the sun broke through just after lunch and it was lovely, sadly it was rather short lasted (but it is a Bank Holiday Weekend after all!).

We didn't hold out much hope for much in the way of a sunset but we popped up to the cliff top just in case.

The wind had picked up a bit so it felt a bit cooler than of late but it proved worth the effort.

23rd May 2020

We took our first wander down to the beach since the lockdown came into force in March.

The good news is that it hasn't changed one bit!

The only obvious omissions are the Blue Flag and the Lifeguard Station.

As we neared sunset we thought we'd take a stroll up to the sunset, to be fair it didn't look too promising.....

It was a bit of a muted effort but it was worth the effort as the sound of the sea was beautiful - the sound of waves rolling up the beach was lovely.

22nd May 2020

It's a trifle dull today and we have a bit of a breeze developing.

HMS Tyne moored off the beach - one of three River-class Patrol Ships the Navy have.  They are responsible for safeguarding fishing stocks and patrol the entire coastline of the UK.

The grass is really starting to dry out on the cliff top.

21st May 2020

No we're not being lazy - today appears to be a re-run of yesterday!

20th May 2020

Phew it's a hot one - 9.00am and it was already rather warm, albeit a bit misty.

By mid-morning you could hear the done of a jet-ski, somebody was having fun!

We were treated to another fabulous sunset too.

19th May 2020

There's quite a bit of low cloud around this morning but it is feeling quite sultry already.

It had 'blued' up a bit by lunchtime.

It was really picturesque on the cliff top in the afternoon.

It was still picture perfect at sunset.

18th May 2020

What a lovely start to the working week.

It was warm from the off today.

We had a busy afternoon, in the baking sun, doing a socially distanced team building exercise - quite literally!  (We are in the process of dismantling and reassembling the gas compound).

17th May 2020

It's another super morning.

We found a lovely fresh Brimstone Butterfly who had found a bit of shade in a cup.

At the end of the day we were treated to another lovely sunset.

15th May 2020

It is fabulously blue again today - mild and, dare we say it, warm.

At the end of day it was dazzling on the cliff top.

There was a pair of Linnet resting on the fence - the female was rather elusive when it came to being photographed but the male was more than happy to oblige, but why wouldn't he be!

14th May 2020

It's bright and breezy on the cliff top this morning.

By mid-morning the breeze was starting to abate.

By the afternoon it was really pleasant and the breeze had dropped significantly.

It was still stunning when we finished for the day.

It was so clear you could see Blakeney Point with the naked eye.

The cedar cladding on the new building is looking really nice.

This lone Goldfinch was singing his heart out as we wandered down the drive.

We chanced our arm again on the cliff top at sunset time - we weren't disappointed!

A spot of sunset fishing.

As we headed home for the evening we stumbled on a mother Muntjac with its nearly full sized offspring on the main drive - as soon as they spotted us they shot off into the undergrowth.

13th May 2020

Mrs Phil the Pheasant was spotted hiding on the tennis court bank this morning.

The sky blued up nicely for the afternoon, with beautiful fluffy blue clouds.

We started the day with a Pheasant and ended it with Partridges!

12th May 2020

Today is a much better day than of late.  The wind has dropped and it is feeling much warmer (not quite as warm as it has been, but you can't have everything!).

We ended the day with another fantastic sunset, possibly the best yet of the season.

11th May 2020

It is a little on the brisk side this morning.

After a blustery day we were treated to another dramatic sunset but it was really chilly standing on the cliff top - you could really feel the full force of the elements.

10th May 2020

Wow!  It's all change today.

The poor cormorant marooned on the top of the groyne looks like he's questioning his seating arrangements!

By 11.0pm the wind had really picked up as had the waves - it's really not very pleasant now and it looks as though rain is on its way too.

Some balloons escaped from local V.E Day celebrations cling to the fence - red, white but the blue has sadly popped.

By lunchtime the wind was even stronger and the waves were really pounding.

Sunset time and it was really difficult to hold the camera still against the gusting wind, which has a real bite to it now.

9th May 2020

It's another lovely day on the coast, rather sultry with it.

We thought we'd take the opportunity to take another walking tour around the caravan park - the route is a little random but we're sure you'll be able to work it out!

After last night's amazing sunset we were crossing our fingers for tonight.....

It's wasn't too shabby either.

8th May 2020 - V.E. Day

It's bright but rather hazy with it this morning.

More cedar cladding went on yesterday.

Mid-morning it got rather cool as a little more mist came in off the sea.

By lunchtime the re-treating tide seemed to draw some of the mist out to sea with it and the temperature started to rise again.

At around 7.40pm we popped up to the cliff top to see if we were going to get anything in the way of a sunset - unfortunately it didn't look too promising so we wandered back home.

By 8.15pm the sky had taken on a rosy hue, a quick trot back up to the cliff top proved very rewarding!

It was all over by 8.30pm

7th May 2020

The sea is incredibly calm today and there is very little man-made noise - the word of the day is tranquil.

As we headed towards the end of the day it started to cool down and a mist started to rise, in spite of this we were treated to another lovely sunset.

6th May 2020

Another lovely day....

5th May 2020

It's bright, breezy and very fresh this morning.

We were working out on site during the afternoon and it was beautiful.

The sun was still shining at the end of the working day and we were hoping that we would get a decent sunset.

The signs were good and it didn't disappoint.

4th May 2020

This morning it's a little on the drab side, we are forecast to get a bit of sun shine by the end of the day....

By lunchtime things were much improved.

The grass is growing so quickly at the moment, so we took the opportunity to give it another mow.

It's looking lovely, like a bowling green!

We didn't quite see the sun setting in the sea but the clouds gave sunset a dramatic feel.

8.20pm and the wind is getting up and it's beginning to feel quite cool on the cliff top.

2nd May 2020

It's a beautiful bright morning, if a little cool in the breeze.

As it was getting dark when we took the building photographs yesterday we thought we'd better pop and get some of the cedar cladding in the sunshine, so you can really appreciate the colour.

We have a panoramic view of the park from the top of the scaffolding.

Photograph courtesy of Tim Randell.

We have a panoramic view of the park from the top of the scaffolding.

The natural cedar cladding.

A close up of the ornamental lead flashing on the plinth brick which the cedar cladding will butt up against.

We had to pop into the office just after lunch and, although the breeze seemed keener, it was still lovely.

The fishermen were busy sorting out a net.

1st May 2020

After a dull start we've seen a fair bit of sunshine during the morning.

Big billow clouds started to develop and by lunchtime some of them had started to look a bit threatening.

Just after lunch the first shower hit.

Thankfully there is a bit of a breeze and it wasn't long before the showers had moved on - it looks like Cromer didn't escape the showers!

During the afternoon we stumbled across a rather surprising sight in the tennis court.......... not one but two female peacocks!

We dashed to get the camera but were a bit too slow but here's a rather grainy photo, we took just before they flew off towards the church, to prove we're not making it up.

We thought we'd take a wander up to the cliff top just before sunset to see how the builders have been getting on - boy have they been busy!

We hung around for the sunset but it wasn't as impressive as the builders progress.

7.00pm

8.00pm

8.20pm

30th April 2020

We had quite a lot of rain late yesterday and during the night but today it is beautiful - albeit cool with more laying water than we're used to but never-the-less lovely.

Shhh! You haven't seen me....

29th April 2020

We've had a damp start to the day.

28th April 2020

It's been threatening rain all day, we've had the odd spot but we've escaped anything major.

Despite the forecast the builders have had a very productive day.

There was a delivery of cedar cladding during the afternoon - here's a little preview of what we can expect....

27th April 2020

A little overcast and a lot, lot cooler today.

We are still being treated to lots of bird-life - today's offering is a lovely male Wheatear.

As we headed towards sunset it all looked very promising - it didn't disappoint.

26th April 2020

It is another beautiful day on the coast however we are lead to believe that we may have some rain on its way over the next day or so.

In readiness for this rain we have been doing a spot of gardening and have cut the big field, as the grass has already grown significantly since the last cut a couple of weeks ago.

We have also been trying to repair bald patches caused by awnings on the touring pitches however the grass seed is taking a while to germinate as everything is so dry.

We've re-seeded the grass and are hoping the promised rain will kick-start it into sprouting!

While we were sprinkling the grass seed we heard a Skylark singing somewhere on the cliff edge - it wasn't long before we spotted 'him'.

If you look closely you can see clouds of small black flies all along the cliff edge.

The view down to the beach amazing - so calm and serene.

There were too many clouds for a classic sunset but it certainly looked very dramatic.

25th April 2020

It is stunning today.

24th April 2020

This morning it's unexpectedly dull.

By 11.00am things had started to brighten up again.

This morning we have added a few photographs to our Archive section - why not have a quick look!

23rd April 2020

It's another lovely start to the day.

By lunchtime it had begun to get a bit hazy and a little on the cool side.

On the plus side you can hear Skylarks and a good number of Sand Martins twittering as they whizz about.

21st April 2020

It's another bright and breezy day, albeit a little on the bracing side.

The builders, in particular the roofer, have been working hard over the past coupe of days so we thought we'd come and document their progress.

On the way up the hill we could hear a droning above us - it was a low flying military aeroplane.  It continued to buzz around for another hour or so.

Turning back to the building work; the progress on the roof is very noticable now and now it is water tight the builders have returned to insulate the individual rooms within the building.

It wan't long before the sun started to set - another dazzling re-run of previous evenings.

20th April 2020

Bright, brisk and, as always, beautiful.

Even the Kestrel is struggling to stay stable today.

Sunset time and, like yesterday evening, it was dazzling again but it was much, much windier on the cliff top and much cooler too.

19th April 2020

This is a bit more like it!

It's so nice we have decided to take a Sunday stroll around the caravan park - keep those eyes peeled for your caravan...

After a lovely day the sunset didn't disappoint, it was really dazzling.  The clear skies, coupled with a rather stiff breeze, lent themselves to a rather chilly wait to see the sun set in the sea.

To be frank it was absolutely perishing.

(The photos were taken between 7.45pm and 8.00pm).

18th April 2020

We're not used to this - cold, dank, damp and dull.....

Even the sunset was a trifle on the dull side.

17th April 2020

Despite being a little duller and cooler this morning the boys have been busy digging a trench for the power supply to the new building.

By mid-morning the sun had broken through but it remained a bit brisk.

After lunch we had to run a quick errand out on the caravn park so we took the camera with us.

As you can see it was much brighter than earlier but what the photos don't convey is how much breezier it was too.

16th April 2020

Good Morning from West Runton.

It may have got increasingly chilly and misty as we approached the end of the day but it couldn't prevent us from having a senastional sunset.

15th April 2020

Another beautiful day - not much in the way of a breeze, warm in the sunshine but a tad cool in the shade.

14th April 2020

It's a much improved picture today.  There is still a nip in the air but the sun is trying to break through and when it is you can feel a real warmth coming from it.

We have had a lovely response from our photographs from around the caravan park.  In addition to the many messages we've received we have also received a lovely piece of poetry which we would like to share with you.

Norfolk Lament.

How we miss Laburnum,

The clifftop and open skies,

The hum of the distant mower,

And mournful seagull cries.

How we miss Laburnum,

The path down to the sea,

A beach clean before breakfast,

See Louise, for some tea.

How we miss Laburnum,

Bracing breeze and sun,

A walk on Cromer Pier,

Fish 'n' Chips from Number One.

How we miss Laburnum,

A drive to Blakeney Quay,

Sitting watching crabbers,

"Cookies", to pick up tea.

How we miss Laburnum,

Long walks on Norfolk trails,

Calling at The Village Inn,

Sampling Woodford Ales.

How we miss Laburnum,

Even the Sheringham Shuffle,

Creeping down the High Street,

Amid the hustle and bustle.

Thanks go to Tony & Elaine for sharing this with us.

By lunchtime the sun had well and truly broken through.

The caravan park has had it's first proper cut, now Shaun is making a start tacking all those hard to reach places you would normally be attending to.

13th April 2020

Bank Holiday Monday and at last a constant in the very surreal world we are all living in at the moment.

We have proper Bank Holiday weather - gone is the sunshine and back on are the woolly socks and jumpers.  Normal service has almost been resumed!

12th April 2020

What an amazing start to the day.

6.25am.

By the afternoon it was feeling really rather sultry and it was looking quite hazy out to sea.

The cliff top was full of flocks of small seed eating birds, mainly Linnets, several of which sat strung out along the fence.

One of the many support vessels moored off the coast at the moment.

11th April 2020

The Easter Weekend thus far has, ironically, been the best for several years.

Following on from our last little montage of photographs from around the caravan park we have had several requests for more (I think secretly everyone is hoping to catch a glimpse of their caravan!).

As we are following the advice to 'stay at home' our walk today has been around the caravan park - we'll leave it to you to work out the route!

If you haven't spotted your caravan this time keep looking as we'll try and do some more 'walks' around the caravan park.

9th April 2020

9.00am and the blades on the crass cutter have already been adjusted ready for us to give the caravan park a good, close cut.  We are continuing to work hard to keep everything neat and tidy for when you can all return.

We aren't the only ones hard at work there have been several fishing boats out this morning.

Re-baiting and preparing a pot to go back into the water.

There she goes......

8th April 2020

It's been another dry, sunny day (not what you probably want to hear under the circumstances).   We've been using our time productively with lots of strimming and hand cutting going on today.

7th April 2020

We have had a productive day out on the caravan park working on the new hire caravans.  The weather has been a real plus with lovely blue skies.

At lunchtime we noticed a weird phenomenon - there was an odd heat-haze towards the horizon which made the wind turbines look really strange.

6th April 2020

At breakfast time the cloud was full of dark clouds and it wasn't long before the first big spots of rain were falling - they had the smell of summer rain about them.

A lone fishing boat out on the grey sea.

By the afternoon things were a bit more cheerful.....

5th April 2020

We've had another lovely day today - it's felt even warmer than yesterday as, up until lunchtime, there was only a hint of a breeze.

4th April 2020

It is really pleasant today, not quite shirt sleeve weather but no need for a coat.

We thought we'd take the camera with us when we did our walk of the caravan park perimeter, hopefully any owners reading this might get a glimpse of their caravan.

We hope everyone is staying home and staying safe.  Hopefully it won't be long before you are all back.

Had to pop into the office this evening so tied it in with the sunset.

At last the sun is setting on the seaward side of the Bump.

3rd April 2020

We had a lovely start to the day, sadly it was also the best part of the day as it got progressively duller and duller as the day progressed.

2nd April 2020

We had a rather dull start to the day but by lunchtime the sun had made an appearance.

Unfortunately the sun brought the wind with it!

1st April 2020

The weather is rather in keeping with the mood today, as we should have been opening for the season today.

We hope you are all keeping safe and look forward to when we can welcome you all back.

31st March 2020

Today on the coast it's bright and breezy, there's a slight nip in the air but it is beautiful.

A big mangle of pots has washed up on the beach below us, probably a result of all the recent wind and high seas.

30th March 2020

It's much better than yesterday morning but it is rather dull and still a little on the breezy side, there's also a hint of rain in the air.

By lunchtime it was glorious, albeit still breezy.

By 2.00pm the picture had changed somewhat and rain was on its way, moving swiftly across the sea towards us.......

When it arrived it was none too pleasant.

29th March 2020

It was extremely blustery during the night with several rather noisy hail storms thrown in.  So blustery in fact that some of the building site safety fences were blown down.

The wind has continued to blow all day and the wintery showers continued into the early afternoon.  Thankfully we were able to get out to stretch our legs.

The views from the cliff top were spectacular but boy was it chilly in the biting wind.

26th March 2020

We are lucky enough to have blue skies again.

25th March 2020

It's lovely on the coast again, it's much milder than yesterday.

24th March 2020

It's been a rather fraught day after the government's announcement but at least the sunny is shining.

Sadly the builder's have had to call it a day this afternoon for a while, as this phase of the build calls for a lot working in close proximity with each other meaning they cannot comply with social distancing recommendations.

It's a real shame as the first of the roof tiles were about to go on!

Coronavirus (COVID 19) Outbreak Update - 24th March 2020

Further to our most recent statement and the Prime Minister's address yesterday evening we are writing to confirm that Laburnum Caravan Park will be closed until such a time as the government advises otherwise.

For those of you who have made holiday bookings (in either our hire caravans or on our touring field) it is with regret that we will not be able to honour any of the bookings made for April and May.  We will be contacting everyone who is affected individually to discuss their options.

We are hopeful that if everyone adheres to the Government's advice that this outbreak can be controlled and concluded more swiftly.

In the meantime, stay safe and we look forward to when we can welcome you all back.

Coronavirus (COVID 19) Outbreak

As the situation is rapidly changing we will be using the Noticeboard section of our website to communicate any changes in our position, as necessary.

23rd March 2020

It's been a long day waiting for news from the Prime Minister as to whether caravan parks can remain open.

22nd March 2020

It's another lovely day so we've been continuing to put the services on to the new caravans and preparing for decking.

20th March 2020

It's bright and breezy on the coast today.

19th March 2020

It's quite a grey day today.

17th March 2020

We are continuing to be lucky with our whether.

16th March 2020

The end of another busy day.

13th March 2020

Another lovely day at the seaside !!!

12th March 2020

It's another lovely day.

By mid morning it was really beautiful.

It was spoilt a bit at lunchtime when we had a series of rather stingy hail storms.

During the afternoon we had a little field trip to Gressenhall Museum of Rural Life, with our friends from West Runton Beach Cafe.  The purpose of the visit was to see the remains of the the West Runton Mammoth and it turned out to be a real treat and a privilege.

It was the last opportunity for anyone to see the remains for a while as the Museum Service are about to commence some important conservation work on the delicate, semi-fossilized bones.

Louise from the cafe managed to film some of Dr David Waterhouse's presentation - click on the link to learn a bit more about the mammoth and his damaged tusk - Dr David Waterhouse & the West Runton Mammoth.

11th March 2020

After a spot of rain last night it is glorious today - mild with an increasing breeze.

10th March 2020

It's much milder than it has been of late but still rather windy.

By the time we reached the afternoon the wind had increased and brought with it some rather ominous looking clouds......

7th March 2020

It was a cool, golden start to the day but low level cloud arrived soon after sunrise so everything looks a bit muted this morning.

We thought it would be a good time to have another look around the new building....

6th March 2020

Bright and breezy today on the coast.

It was still fabulous at 4.00!

5th March 2020

Brrrr!  It's cold and blustery on the cliff top today, in fact it's not very pleasant at all.

4th March 2020

It's another lovely sunny and still start to the day.

By lunchtime it was glorious.

3rd March 2020

We had a beautiful, golden start to the day followed by glorious sunshine and blue skies - perfect weather for siting caravans.

We had a good morning and managed to site two of our new hire caravans.

Sadly by the time we had finished the clouds were gathering and we even had a few drops of rain later in the afternoon.

2nd March 2020

After a reasonably dry (with the exception of a few rather savage hail storms on Saturday) but windy weekend where we saw plenty of sunshine, this morning is a revelation - sunny and still.

28th February 2020

It may be disappointingly cold and grey again this morning but we've had a bit of excitement to start the day with - another large steel was craned into position in the new building early this morning.

27th February 2020

It's cold, grey and very calm this morning but no sign of snow.

By lunchtime the wind had really got up.  On the plus side it had blown the murk away but on the downside it has made it feel really cold.

26th February 2020

It's bright and breezy on the coast today (a little on the raw side too).

As we headed towards the end of the day it got even cooler.

25th February 2020

It's not too bad at all today.

We've had another busy day moving a caravan.  The ground is still sodden so it's been a slow laborious job.

It was a dazzling end to the working day.

Some more of the large oak beams and posts went up today, in the new build.

24th February 2020

Yesterday has hideously wet all day but after a wet start the afternoon was much improved.

22nd February 2020

After a damp night it's rather windy again today.

The building is really taking shape now.

21st February 2020

We've had a busy day caravan moving but we were rewarded with a splash of colour at the end of the day.

20th February 2020

It's rather damp, dull and dingy again today.

In spite of everything the building is continue to grow despite sitting in a pool of mud at the moment!

18th February 2020

We've been really busy today out on site, moving a caravan - looks like we're not the only ones who have been hard at it.

16th February 2020

More doom and gloom.........

We appear to have the start of a floor for the upper storey now.

13th February 2020

Late afternoon and (typically) the best part of the day.

The new building is looking good bathed in the golden light of the setting sun.

12th February 2020

It's bright and breezy today, thankfully no where near as cold as yesterday.

11th February 2020

Although the vast majority of the snow had gone before dark there were a few small frozen smatterings evident this morning.  Despite a biting wind off the sea the sun had already started to melt it away by the time we started work.

The builders are back on site and conditions for them are decidedly harsh as they are all working up on the scaffolding and are being blasted by the icy wind.

It got out beautifully in the afternoon but the wind strengthened and it felt even colder than id did first thing (if that was possible!).

It was really raw come the end of the day but despite everything the builders have really cracked on today.

10th February 2020

It was surprisingly calm and mild this morning with storm Ciara having done her worst, there were a number of trees down locally which blocked several roads, including the A148 at Aylmerton.

The wind picked up again and by the time we left off work it was very dull and wet snow had started to fall, bringing the temperature down with it.

9th February 2020

After a pleasant day yesterday we woke to quite a windy morning, the wind having picked up during the night.

Despite having ensured that everthing was lashed down we took a tour around the caravan to double check everything, thankfully all was okay.

The pictures don't quite convey the strength of the wind, it was quite disconcerting standing on the cliff top with the wind pushing at your back.

7th February 2020

Another chilly start but it also another lovely day.

It's getting noticeably lighter when we knock off for the day.  It gave us an opportunity to have a closer look at the oak beams, along with the addition of plinth bricks, while the building site was empty.

6th February 2020

We've had a very chilly start with a lick of frost but the sky is so clear and blue today.

5th February 2020

It's a beautiful day - cool but beautiful.

Surf's up!

There's been more exciting action surrounding the new building - the oak supports have begun to be lifted into place to support the ever growing roof.

3rd February 2020

We had a mixed bag of weather over the weekend but today's not too bad at all.

When we got to work we could hear the tell-tale song of a Skylark - we eventually tracked him down, it's a bit grainy but here he is singing away.

Although Saturday was lovely Sunday's heavy rain has meant there are lots of puddles again this morning.

The Skylark was around all afternoon enjoying the hazy sunshine.

31st January 2020

It's not so nice this morning it's rather brisk and rain is on it's way.

The rain did arrive but we did see a little glimmer of sun in between the showers.

The inclement weather hasn't stopped progress on the roof today - day by day it's looking more like an actual building.

30th January 2020

Oh dear we're back to the gloom but on the upside it is at least dry.

It may have been dull but it was perfect weather for giving the grass its first rough cut of the year.

The weather benefited the builders today too.

Not only is the roof taking shape but the 'feet' for the oak support posts have also been installed.

29th January 2020

It's another lovely day on the coast, we've not lost the cold breeze but it is a little less harsh today.

On our commute to work the new building looked impressive in the early morning morning sun, it's really starting to take shape now.

The lovely, albeit chilly, end to a lovely day.

28th January 2020

After several days of gloom it's lovely to wake to a lovely bright day but (there's always a but!) it is really rather raw on the cliff top this morning - there is a biting wind and it is bitterly cold.

24th January 2020

It's a re-run of yesterday and the day before - day three of the murk and damp!

As it's dull again today we thought we'd have another wander around the new build and let you see the progress thus far.

The flint work on the curved feature wall is looking fabulous already - it's being laid with such skill and precision.

It may be a laborious job but the results are worth it.

23rd January 2020

It's now day two of the murk and damp.  The only glimmer of excitement is what is protruding from behind the hessian on the new building...

21st January 2020

Brrrr! It's a bit chilly this morning.

By 9.30am it was beautifully blue but it was bitterly cold.

20th January 2020

It was a calm, clear and cool start to the working day.

The theme continued all day culminating in a very cold, still calm and clear, end to the day.

19th January 2020

It's another lovely day on the coast.

We took the opportunity to have a good around the new building which is progressing nicely.

The good weather brought out lots of birds - including scores of Sparrows and Goldfinches.  This little Robin was singing his heart out all afternoon.

18th January 2020

As per the forecast it's a beautiful day on the coast.

17th January 2020

A disappointingly grey start to the day....

It wasn't long before things picked up though.

16th January 2020

It's all a bit grey today.

15th January 2020

After another wet night it was a pretty grotty damp morning, saying that it didn't stop us laying the base for the new gas compound.

By lunchtime it was like a different day, beautifully blue.

The new build is starting to dry out too.

13th January 2020

It's been rather unpleasant today, sadly the building site is now a bit of a soggy mess.

10th January 2020

After a really wet evening and night we've woken to yet more rain.  Thankfully by the time the crane arrived to hoist the steels into place it had subsided.

By the end of the morning things were looking a lot more cheerful, it is deceptively cold on the extremities though.

It was a very different scene when we returned to work after lunch, from that which greeted us first thing.

9th January 2020

After a rather blustery night thankfully it's just breezy today.

The first lot of scaffolding has been installed and the first lot of steels have been assembled ready for the crane which is due to lift them in place tomorrow.

8th January 2020

It's still and grey this morning but the wind is supposed to be increasing in strength throughout the day.

The building work is progressing nicely, the first lot of scaffolding is being installed this morning.

7th January 2020

Wow - what a start to the day.

6th January 2020

Back to work and back to the gloom!  At least it's dry and the building work can recommence.

Please be aware that we will be working reduced hours in the office this week, so email maybe your best way of contacting us.

3rd January 2020

There's a bit of an icy blast on the cliff top this morning, with lots of standing water following a rather wet night.

2nd January 2020

Another calm day on the coast.

As the day progressed the wind picked up but it blow the clouds away....

1st January 2020

Cromer New Year's Day fireworks welcoming in both the New Year and the new decade (and my word is it chilly!).

It was a shame it was a little hazy.
